Firstly Vintage would sincerely like to thank the others who turned up for us on a very unsocial PB time – very much appreciated; particularly as in many cases it just meant – pay your match fee and head for home.

Secondly, I have to apologise for my lack of body understanding. The lack of coordination between my brain, my body, my legs and my arms was a shock to me and a letdown for the side – sorry. Not helped by trying to mark a guy 15 years younger who loved running everywhere fast!

After two minutes we were 1-0 down mainly due to the youngster being unmarked. Their next two goals were purely based upon luck of the lob and tennis experience – both goals were scored from chest high. I think they were as surprised as we were annoyed. We were getting better all the time with everyone working very hard but we were just not getting the luck they had experienced.

0-3 at half time, no team talk and off we went again. And again the runner was left unmarked and he mis-hit it towards the goal. Frosty had his pad attached to the goalpost but his kickers are not as wide and somehow it managed to creep in through the tiny gap. A perfect example of their luck.

From then on, we held our own and were matching them. Net result was that firstly Bobby Cheng and then Bobby Abdullah scored. Totally deserved for the effort the team put in. Basically, the 10 men won the second half – well done.
