Role Overview
We’re looking for a passionate and driven coach to support our Women’s First Team as Assistant Coach and lead our Women’s 2s, while also contributing to the U16/18 Performance Pathway. This high performance role involves working with some of the country’s top junior and senior talent, playing a pivotal part in helping players transition from junior performance hockey to adult performance hockey and beyond.
The scope of this role can be adapted based on the calibre of the successful candidate.
Time Commitment
- September to March: 5.5 hours midweek (training/meetings) plus Saturday and Sunday match commitments
- Easter onwards: 3 hours per week midweek plus weekend commitments
- Contract ends: End of July, following the Talent Academy Festival
- Additional hours: Admin, video analysis, and player management as required
Salary
Highly competitive and based on experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate training sessions tailored to team and individual needs
- Support the Head Coach in all aspects of first team preparation and matchdays
- Lead the Women’s 2s through league and cup competitions, ensuring a strong link with the first team
- Mentor and develop players in the U16/18 Performance Pathway, supporting their transition into senior hockey
- Provide regular feedback, set individual development plans and guide players on technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects of the game
- Collaborate with the wider coaching team and Talent Academy staff to ensure alignment across the club
- Monitor and analyse performance data to drive continuous improvement
- Stay up to date with coaching best practices and bring fresh ideas to the programme
Requirements
- Proven experience coaching at performance level (ideally senior women’s or high level juniors)
- Strong understanding of player development and performance environments
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to inspire, motivate and build trust with players
- England Hockey Level 2 qualification (or working towards it), or equivalent
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Commitment to ongoing CPD and club values

We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic coaches to join our successful junior programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who is passionate about hockey and coaching, and are looking to develop their skills and experience working with junior players.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver coaching sessions for junior players of all abilities, ages and genders.
- Work closely with the Director of Junior Hockey to develop and implement the junior program.
- Assess and monitor player performance, providing feedback and guidance to support player development.
- Support and attend matches and tournaments.
- Assist with the recruitment and retention of junior players.
- Coach in the local community
- Assist Director of Junior Hockey in relatable tasks
- Maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for players.
Requirements:
- Experience coaching junior players.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for hockey and developing young players.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
This is a part-time role with the possibility of extra hours with hours to be agreed with the successful candidate. The role will require weekend and evening work. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
