Penalty Corner Day Camp for Years 7-13
By Will Fulker
Penalty corners and how to win penalty corners at the highest level of hockey statistically have huge importance in the outcome of not just games but tournaments.
The importance of the penalty corner has also increased in recent years - for example in the Women's 2019 European Cup in Antwerp 43% of all goals were scored from the penalty corner. With this in mind we wanted to dedicate a whole day of camp to both ‘winning’ and ‘executing’ a penalty corner.
We welcome World Cup star Tom Sorsby and Olympic Bronze and Commonwealth Gold Medallist Izzy Petter on the camp both who have crucial roles in penalty corners. The camp will be led by Coaching Director Will Fulker.
This camp will include technical aspects such as PC trapping, PC injecting and drag flicking/hitting as well as game scenarios to ‘win’ corners as well as PC games (different routines) and PC defence.
GKs will get the chance to organise their defence, learn different defensive strategies and different techniques to try and keep the PCs out!
Ages: Years 7/8/9 & Years 10/11/12/13
Timings: 10am - 3pm (bring lunch and arrive early to register)
Places are limited to book early to avoid disappointment!
