Clubhouse News

The addition of Nanny State ale seems to be a winner for all those that are sticking to their Dry January – Not long to go now folks.

You will all be aware that since Fullers was bought by Asahi and subsequently by Nectar their support for the club has ended. They no longer give us any sponsorship and have hiked their prices to an untenable level. With this in mind I have been looking at alternative suppliers. Please come and have a chat if you’d like to see the options available.., as you know I barely touch a drop so would welcome your input (about 10 minutes’ worth Fitchy!). I hope to have some samples for the weekend for those I consider worthy.

I’m sure you’re all missing my stats but don’t worry - they’ll be back next week when we have the whole of January to analyse.

Events & Socials

Don’t forget that the SHC Quiz is back next week, pop me an email on clubhouse@surbitonhc.com to book in your team. £10pp and teams of up to 6, Please arrive at 7.30pm for 8pm start. Fish & Chip supper and £50 bar tab for the winners. We are yet to have consecutive winners but “Large Humps” are the current champions.

All of the 6 Nations games will be shown in the bar or marquee and we may even put the heaters on!

We’re putting the menu together for EOS and it promises to be amazing. Save the date: Saturday 23rd April 2022.

Hosting Your Event or Party
The function room is now getting booked out so please don’t assume it will be free on a Saturday evening, if you are planning to stop down please let me know so I can make sure we are suitably staffed.

New Staff Needed
Talking of staff, many of the brilliant youngsters will be consumed with their exams and then heading off to Uni in the summer so I need to find the next batch of lucky recruits. If you know of anyone that would be interested in bar, hut or catering positions please ask them to get in touch with me. It can be fun, honest!

Cheers,
Ann
