Are You Ready for 2022 at SHC?

4th January 2022

By Surbiton HC

Welcome back and a Happy New Year to all our members and friends of Surbiton HC.

We are looking forward to an exciting few months ahead, with indoor hockey, the second half of the outdoor leagues, European trips for our first teams, lots of SHC Camps, the return of Walking Hockey and of course continued progress for Masterplan 2024 as we build on the SHC development plan.

Indoor Hockey

  • Some of our junior players played age group competitions at the Copper Box tournament between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. There was some great hockey and plenty of excitement (from players and supporters!) - look out for match reports and photos in this week’s brief Colts newsletter.
  • Our first teams begin their 2022 indoor campaigns this weekend - the Men’s 1s looking to defend the Premier League title they won two years ago and the Ladies 1s looking to regain promotion to the top flight. More details to follow later in the week.

Adult Leagues

Senior training restarts from tonight (Tuesday 4th January). There are a handful of matches this weekend (mainly friendlies) - most of our teams get underway with league matches again on the weekends of 15th or 22nd January. Look out for details from your captains and in the club newsletter.

Colts Hockey Has Restarted

Regular Colts weekly training began on Monday 3rd January and continues at the normal times throughout this term. Sunday fixtures begin this Sunday 9th January.

Socials

Our 2022 social programme kicks off with the monthly Quiz Night this Friday 7th January. Please email clubhouse@surbitonhc.com if you plan to come along. We have plans in the pipeline for plenty more events and socials over the next few months - keep an eye on the newsletter and this page [link] for details.

Keeping Covid-Safe at SHC

Please continue to observe club and government guidelines whenever you’re accessing the club to play, coach, umpire, spectate or socialise. Full club guidance is available here.

We look forward to seeing the club buzzing again!
