SHC Launches New Walking Hockey Programme
By Surbiton HC
Are you looking for an inspiring new way to get active after lockdown? Would you like to take part in some gentle activity and meet new people?
Why not join us for Walking Hockey! It’s hockey - but walking.
- When: Fridays starting 18th June 2021
- Time: 10am to 11am
- Where: Surbiton HC, Sugden Rd, Thames Ditton, KT7 0AE
- Cost: First session free then £5.50 incl tea/coffee and cake. Cashless payment will be taken on the day.
- Session type: 'Drop in' sessions - there's no obligation to attend every week, but due to limited we do ask that you book your place in advance of each session
Non-members are welcome. Our sessions are open to all ages and you do not need any previous hockey experience. Our friendly, experienced coaches will teach you all you need to know.
Walking Hockey is ideal for people who find they cannot move as quickly but still want to keep active; have never played sport or are returning after injury or illness. Family groups are also welcome.
Walking Hockey may also provide a springboard to more competitive hockey and you may wish to transition into our successful Back 2 Hockey programme in the future.
Whatever your motivation, we would love to welcome you to the SHC Walking Hockey Programme. We aim to encourage gentle activity while having a great time meeting new people. Your one hour session is always followed by a complimentary ‘cuppa and a chat’ in our inviting clubhouse or outdoor seating area.
All equipment, including sanitized hockey sticks, will be provided. Shin pads are not essential, but if you prefer to wear some please bring your own as we are unable to lend these to you.
