Incredible Weekend for SHC Under 12 Girls

It was a big weekend of hockey for our Colts section, with 19 junior teams in action including a number of Tier 1 & 2 Cup ties.

In a great day of competition hockey, our Colts sides took six wins and a draw from the seven boys’ and girls’ England Hockey Tier 1 and 2 Cup matches involving SHC.

However, the real success story from the weekend was in our Under 12 Girls section. With a number of Under 12 teams ‘playing up’ in Under 14 Development leagues this season, many of our young players are stepping up extremely well and competing with older and often more experienced opposition every weekend.

Yesterday, Surbiton’s Girls U12 teams (with four of these teams playing at U14 level) managed five wins out of five, but the most rewarding news was that every single Under 12 who was available played – a total of 99 girls! Some of these players only signed up to the club last week and yesterday was their first ever match. Congratulations to all players and coaches involved in the Under 12 programme on a fantastic day of hockey.
