Women's 2s 2 - 0 Sevenoaks 1s (A)

Gameday: 10th October 2026

By Lilie Lamacraft

*D*uring the first five minutes, we were finding our feet,
While Sevenoaks came flying out, determined and hard to beat.
They'd recruited from Holcombe, so we knew they'd bring the heat,
But soon our forwards found their groove and started looking neat!

*E*very attack came thick and fast, with Iona leading the way,
Phoebe, Sarah, Katie, Nina and Ellie had plenty to say.
The passing flowed, the moves were slick, the pressure wouldn't cease,
Then Lucy calmly slotted home to give us the release!

1–0 SHC!

*N*ext came Quarter Two, and we had them on the run,
We won ourselves a short corner — surely goal number two was on!
Our practised routine was ready, we'd rehearsed it to perfection,
But the quarter-time whistle blew and interrupted our procession!

*Z*ipping into position, we prepared to run the play,
But Ro Hearne spotted a gap and had another way.
She skipped the set-piece script and sent the ball towards the net,
A cheeky shot, a glorious goal — the best we'd seen just yet!

2–0 SHC!

*E*ntering Quarter Three, the energy took flight…
Well, actually, it disappeared — we'd switched off for the night!
Nobody knows what happened, or where our spark had gone,
But Evie, Rowain, Lottie and Saya kept defending and pushed on.
They shut the door at the back and helped our attacks restart,
While Sevenoaks searched for answers and we tried to find our heart.

Still 2–0 SHC — one quarter left to play!

*L*ast quarter saw Sevenoaks push hard to turn the tide,
They came at us relentlessly, with very little left to hide.
Pip took a stick straight to the chin — stitches were the price,
While Rosie took one on the hand; this game was far from nice!
But Jemma held her nerve in goal and kept the danger out,
She guarded that clean sheet so well there was never any doubt.
They threw the kitchen sink at us, but couldn't find a way,
As Jemma kept them scoreless to secure the win that day!

*T*wo goals to nil — a win secured, a brilliant team display,

Coach Georgia and manager Glynn kept their cool along the way.
With tempers running high and tackles flying left and right,
They stayed composed throughout the game — our calm amidst the fight!

*H*ats off to Rosie, Player of the Match, who never took a break,

She popped up here, she popped up there — how much ground can one girl take?
Relentless and unstoppable, she covered every track,
If we could clone her ten times over, we'd never give it back!

*E*ven DOD went to yours truly — a decision quite bizarre,

The reasons remain a mystery, discussed both near and far.
No evidence was presented, no explanation came through,
But apparently I'd earned it… though I haven't got a clue!

*C*oming up next, it's Bristol at home — *A*nother test awaits,

Before *T*he Ladies 1s take the pitch and show us their elite traits.
So ice the bumps, rest the bruises, and let the celebrations flow,
It's 2–0 to Surbiton — and that's all you need to know!
