Womens 2s 1 - 1 Bristol Firebrands 1s (H)

We came out flying, with energy and pace,
Phoebe, Ches and Iona set the tone in the race.

Nina drove forward, Saya and Katie linking in beautiful play,
Quick passes and movement kept Firebrands at bay.

We worked our way forward, creating chances galore,
Then Rosie’s rocket of a drag flick put us one up on the score!

Firebrands hit back with a corner well struck,
Our lead disappeared - we’d had some bad luck.

Lottie, Evie and Rowan stood firm at the back,
Keeping them out as we stayed on attack.

At half-time we regrouped, with a plan to get through
Lucy glided past players, Lillie bossed the midfield too.

Ellie and Eva both had great shots looking to score,
But the ball wouldn’t go in - we just needed one more!

Glyn stayed calm throughout the game,
Keeping us focused when the pressure came.

Jemma's stick save from a corner kept us level and strong,
As we pushed for a winner we knew we didn’t have long.

Both teams gave their all, but the score stayed one-one,
A point apiece when the final whistle was done!

Player of the Game: Evie! For tenacity in defence, she battled with pride,
And her passes with pace kept our attacks alive!

Georgia was off celebrating her hen do,
We missed her (and her lucky trainers too!)

A big thanks to Frankie for stepping in on the day,
For keeping us going and leading the way!

Then came the team talk - despite Frankie's advice
I stood on the pitch thinking that would be nice!

The water cannons soaked us from head to toe,
And DOD was mine - what a way to go!
