SHC Sloths 4 - 0 British Army WO35s (H)
By Giselle Ansley
On a lovely warm October Sunday, the Sloths produced a superb all round performance to secure a convincing 4-0 win against the Army
The Sloths started brightly and soon found themselves ahead from a corner. Emily then got herself on the scoresheet thanks to a backhand masterclass before setting Jo up from a full pitch counter attack. Jo wasn't finished there and finished a lovely attacking move off to secure herself a brace on her return to hockey after almost 18 months out.
Whilst the attacking did the damage, Tegs was in fine form in goal pulling off a number of great saves after the newest member of the Sloths team decided to pass the ball to the opposition centre forward and get her big size 7s in the way for a corner.
A special mention goes to Kerrie whose perfectly timed body check snuffed out a dangerous army counter attack much to the applause of all her team mates.
There was also some pre match entertainment courtesy of Bex W who showed incredible enthusiasm by turning up seven days early for the Snails game. Her commitment levels certainly can't be questioned.
With goals, a clean sheet and plenty of laughs along the way it was a great first outing of the season for the Sloths.
