Men's 1s 10 - 0 Hampstead & Westminster 1s (H)
Surbiton Men’s 1s made it an incredible 19 wins from 19 for the 2025/26 Premier Division season with a double figures win over Hampstead & Westminster on Saturday evening.
Spectators basking in glorious sunshine at Sugden Road were treated to a masterclass from the Seals, with a dominant performance for the whole 70 minutes against the team who’d finished fourth in the regular season and had themselves already guaranteed a place at Finals Weekend.
Nick Bandurak opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a field goal and had already notched a hat trick well before half time, supported by two first half finishes from Rob Farrington to make it 5-0 going into the break.
Bandurak scored again in the 44th minute to take his tally to four goals on the day and 32 domestic strikes in his debut season for Surbiton. Gareth Furlong ripped in a trademark penalty corner in the third quarter and Farrington completed his hat trick early in the final spell with a field goal to take it to 8-0 and seal the votes for Player of the Match.
Surbiton kept the pressure on right until the final whistle with Nick Nurse and Dave Goodfield getting themselves on the scoresheet in the final couple of minutes to make it a perfect ten for the Seals, with no goals conceded.
While the team are proud of a record-breaking 100% winning record for the season and can take great confidence from another outstanding performance and scoreline, they know anything can happen at Finals Weekend and focus will remain laser sharp going into next week’s showpiece event. With a semi final match up against Wimbledon at 15:30 next Saturday at Sugden Road and a potential final the next day, the Seals have a chance to retain the trophy they won last year in front of a home crowd to cap off a fine season.
