Men's 3s 0 - 2 Barnes 1s (H)

With everyone sat in the changing room an old, familiar face strolled in. Rhys came in gleaming and happy to be back (he would soon regret this).

The lads went out to the pitch after being informed not to concede any corners and they had a good flicker. Naturally we conceded a corner and they scored the flick.

Shortly after that Aiden got a mild push in the back and went down like a sack of potatoes. Naturally he decided he was going to give their guy a shove back (looking back on it, this was the incorrect thing to do) although it must be mentioned his temper was starting to boil with Philpo deciding every pass was going to be mid shin height and bobbling at him - Philpo knew this was the case and after the third time I screamed, “Pass it flat, Philpo” to which he replied, “Yeah sorry about that.”

Anyway the game went on and Barnes scored again. Meanwhile Rhys was massively realising he could have just simply had a pint and watched rather than playing. Towards the end of the game our resident kangaroo Mitchell decided he was going to whack the ball away after not being five. It was absolutely disgraceful and deserved for more than a five minute yellow, worst decision of the day and unsure how he didn’t get DOD after this decision let alone get some Player of the Match votes.

The game was swiftly followed by some beers and some curries, where the Men’s 3s side slowly realised that the Men’s 4s (mainly Adam) cannot hack his alcohol. The boys then headed for a curry, without the coach in sight claiming he was broken having played more than 20 minutes of hockey; personally I think he couldn’t bear the sight of any of us after our performance.

Bag decided he was going to order the most expensive thing on the menu and was found eating his pint with a knife while everyone else munched down on their curry. And Philpo found himself looking for his onion bhajis and veggie samosas to later find out that Adam had consumed them.
