M3 Battle Hard on London Prem Return

Old Trafford, Anfield, the San Siro and Sugden Road. With all these stadiums having games on over the weekend, everyone’s attention was of course focused on Sugden Road. Where the people’s team, consisting of Ali ‘I will not be playing at the back’ Hitch and the newest member to the team Max Anderson, sorry I mean Ben Douglas, in the line up who knew what could happen.

With the stage being set with a riveting team talk given by the most versatile man in the club (Frankie) the lads were ready and buzzing to be back.

The game started and the boys found themselves 1-0 down to a short corner. However up stepped Goobs. With a fantastic flick straight into their runner’s stick and into the top left corner. 1-1

Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it’s Tiger Woods giving himself concussion. The only comparison I have is simply describing this player as the modern day Maurice Flitcroft. I fear this got missed by most. George ‘I’m a golfer’ Hoarton got played through onto the left hand shoulder of the D and all he needed to do was hit a reverse strike at the goal. Instead of doing this he decided to smash his shoulder followed by his face into the turf and nearly knock himself out. Still 1-1.  Make sure you replace your divot please.

This was swiftly followed by an another goal from the oppo to make it 2-1. However Mr Middle Middle himself steps up again and perfectly slots the ball… middle middle. 2-2. The crowd went mild as Wadders rose from his bench to celebrate, beer pouring all over his poor missus who then left him to go to a party instead.

The game was in the balance here until Wimbo scored a third goal and then a fourth goal which was scored by myself, perfectly edged through the slips (and Dan Dove’s legs) and into the back of the net to make it 4-2.

Overall a good day down at the club and heads should be held high. As we fought a competitive game against good opponents and if we would have put our chances away it could have been a different story.
