Back 2 Hockey Summer 11s Report

Back to Hockey enjoyed a series of 11 a side matches during the summer term to complement Thursday nights’ summer league.

One external game was played and won against the East India Club; for the remainder of the Saturdays we enjoyed internal games in the ever increasing heat.

Culminating on 11th July with a runaround which necessitated a half time pitch watering, the games were both competitive and fun, allowing players with different levels of experience to become familiar, or re-familiar, with full pitch games, gaining increasing confidence as they go. Expertly umpired by our devoted whistlers, all the games were very close and much discussed over lunchtime drinks in our bar.

Back to Hockey now pauses for the summer holidays; a number of players are aiming to access league hockey next season, whilst many look forward to Back to Hockey’s autumn term training and games.
