Reports from Last Weekend's SHC Junior Fixtures

Girls U14 Matches
GU14 Magpies vs Teddington
A great start to the morning for the Magpies. With a great team effort, they won 7-2 against Teddington. Shriya S not only got a hat trick she had to go and score four goals, Amy J with two great goals and Ria S got one on the score board too. Well done to Emily K, Rosa McV and Shriya S for assisting some of these goals too. Overall, the keeper didn’t have much to do, making a total of two saves. Well done to Amy J for being selected as Player of of the Match by the opposition and to Shriya S for being selected as Player of the Match from her teammates.
GU14 Wrens vs Hampstead & Westminster
Another win for the Wrens this weekend against Hampstead & Westminster. A great score of 10-2, well done to Lila H, Francesca W, Phoebe G and Iona W for scoring two goals each and Amelie H for getting on the scoreboard too. Well done to Eva F-M for being selected as Player of the Match.
GU14 Ospreys vs OCs
Hard luck to the Ospreys who were defeated 5-2 by OCs. Despite the result it was a great game overall with some great teamwork from everyone. Congratulations to Ophelia M for being selected as Player of the Match.
Girls U16 Matches
GU16 Explorers vs OGs
12-0 win for the Explorers against OGs. Lots of goals, Cecily M scored six, Otillie M scored two as well as Kate C, Sophie O and Izzy Y with a goal each. The players also won 12 short corners and the game was all about attacking, which meant the keeper never touched the ball. Well done to the team and congratulations to Cecily M on being selected as Player of the Match.
GU16 Pioneers vs Wayfarers
Was a tough game for the Pioneers however, the team fought hard and well done too Millie D for scoring both goals. The keeper was very busy and made seven incredible saves and kept a clean sheet. Congratulations to Scout C for being selected as Player of the Match.
GU16 Comets vs Blackheath
Overall, a well fought game from the Comets against Blackheath, was very frustrating but the girls kept their heads in the game. Unfortunately, they lost 3-1 but as it was their first match together, they did well. Well done to Gabby G for scoring a goal and to Rhiannon McL for assisting the goal. The keeper was very busy, making a total of 12 saves and had a penalty stroke against her too. Congratulations to Gabby G for being selected as Player of the Match.
GU16 Voyagers vs Wayfarers
Great win for the Voyagers, beating Wayfarers 5-1. Well done to Emily S, Daisy M, Liberty H and Aashny R on scoring goals this weekend and to Aashny R, Bibi T, Anna G, Daisy B and Tallulah T on getting the assists. Keeper wasn’t too busy but did make three incredible saves. Congratulations to Ella S for being selected as Player of the Match.
GU16 Rovers vs OCs
Was a tough game for the Rovers but they came away with a 2-2 draw against OCs. Well done to the Rovers for playing really well, definitely got in their D as Rovers did get six short corners just weren’t able to score them all unfortunately. Congratulations to Eliza S for being selected as Player of the Match.
Girls U18 Matches
GU18 Owls vs OCs
Great win for the Owls against OCs. Scoring eight goals and conceding none, keeper didn’t have much to do. The girls were attacking for majority of the time and got over 10 short corners. Well done to our goalscorers; Emilia P x2, Sophie L x2, Tegan N, Sophia B and Annabelle C. Overall the girls kept possession well for majority of the game and congratulations to Freya A on being selected as Player of the Match.
GU18 Jays vs Wimbledon
Well done to the Jays for beating Wimbledon 6-0. Keeper was very busy and made ten incredible saves and made sure to have a clean sheet after the game. Lucy M scored a hat trick, Amelia B, India G and Shakila K also scored a goal each. Congratulations to India G for being selected as Player of the Match.
Boys U14 Matches
BU14 Scorpions vs OCs
Very easy game for the Scorpions this weekend, beating OCs 14-0. Well done to the whole team for working together to score these goals, was a massive team effort. It couldn’t be decided who the Player of the Match was and therefore the entire team should be proud of the results and congratulations to all the boys in this team.
Boys U16 Matches
BU16 Huskies vs Cambridge
Unfortunately, the Huskies lost this weekend against Cambridge. They kept going and tried hard, but Cambridge just managed to do better, and the Huskies lost 9-1. Was a good team effort and goal was scored by Louis R-L assisted by Sam R. Overall was a tough game but congratulations to Charlie R for being selected as Player of the Match.
BU16 Hyenas vs Wayfarers
The Hyenas had a tough game against Wayfarers over the weekend and resulted in a 4-1 loss. Well done to Hudson S for scoring the goal. Overall, the boys fought hard and did well.
BU16 Coyotes vs Canterbury
Coyotes fought hard against Canterbury but unfortunately lost 2-5. Well done to James F and James K for scoring the goals and to Tom C for assisting both. The keeper made some incredible saves and congratulations to Tom C for being selected as Player of the Match.
