A ridiculously slow journey across South London to arrive five minutes before PB –good start. The assembled group took to the field and, as usual, got on with the double tasks – compete against a strong side whilst learning about the player alongside them. The whole team worked hard and held their own for a while but it could not last and we got to half time four down. That was a bit unfair considering the effort put in all round.
The second half was different. The team feel appeared again and for a considerable time we matched a strong opposition but when they struck, they struck lucky – a 0-2 half was not a true reflection. But they will win the league and, probably, deservedly so.
Thank you to all the team for their effort and I look forward to a win that the effort deserves. And also thanks to the Magnets who doubled up from their early victory at Richmond.
