Sirens 1 - 2 Cheam 3s (A)

8th November 2022

By Claire Thomson

Thankfully, with a break in a rainy Saturday, the Sirens faced Cheam away. Faced with a late-running preceding match, we used the very long walk to the Ladies’ changing rooms as our run and warm up.

Sirens started strongly, taking control at the start of the game with the mids working with the forwards to create some strong attacking play. The game evened up a bit during the first half with both sides each creating a few chances.

In the first half, Sirens had most of the attacking play and were awarded several short corners, which we unfortunately failed to convert.

After half time, Cheam came out strongly and managed to score with a well worked goal.  Sirens kept working hard with plenty of running from the mids and forwards. Eventually, we scored as a result of a short corner with Sarah making a great strike.

With a few minutes to go, it looked like it was going to be a draw, however Cheam managed to score bringing the final score to 2-1.

A special thanks to Sophia for volunteering to go in goal this weekend and doing a sterling job.

Buzz Lightyear was awarded to Jax for having to be told in which direction to run. He is looking forward to a makeover this week.

POM: Jenny for tireless running in the centre midfield and supporting all the team
