Ladies 5s Hold On For Win Over Spencer

Ladies 5s 1 - 0 Spencer 2s
As the pitch thawed out in the morning sun, the 5s warmed up for their early game against Spencer 2s! After a defeat in the first half of the season, we were ready to bag ourselves a win, but with a few players down we knew it wasn't going to be easy. The first half was full of unconverted short corners and fantastic saves by both keepers.
We entered the second half knowing that Spencer would come out fast and eager to put a goal on the board, but we rose to the challenge and began to move the ball around the back, up the wing and straight into the D, for Ruth to score a fantastic goal! After a touch and go Emma ankle injury... she was back on the pitch helping to defend short corners, and despite a questionable pass by Chloe, defence and Beckie's amazing saves prevented Spencer from scoring!
