Girls U14 Falcons Flying High

After last week’s exciting 6-5 win away at Woking we were wondering if there was going to be another goal fest provided by the Falcons. This time the Falcons swooped into Barnes and they didn’t disappoint.

With pushback brought forward by half an hour it really was crucial to get to the game by the expected time. Nonetheless the Falcons coped admirably for the opening 10 minutes or so and kept Barnes at bay. Once the Falcons were in full flight the game was really on. A few forays later and the Falcons had the Barnes defence in a flap. Issy A under pressure from a couple of defenders managed to whip in a cross from the left. Immy W was quicker than their central defenders and managed to control a bouncing ball and guided it past the keeper for the Falcons’ opening goal.

The Falcons quickly scored again and went in at the break 2-0 to the good. The seemingly indefatigable midfielder Saran R was on hand to keep the Falcons focused and before the next break the Falcons had soared to a 5-0 lead.

The final section of the match saw the Falcons possibly get a little bit over excited to score more but it wasn’t to be. The Falcons defence weren’t entirely without anything to do and held off a few breakouts by Barnes. When the last line of defence was breached, the keeper, Aashima P, kept her concentration and coped well.

The final whistle went with no more goals added. Final score Barnes 0 - 5 SHC GU14 Falcons.
