The Geese took a big step towards securing top slot in the division with this resounding away win at Horley. Two games to go and we’re five points clear at the top.
This was as fluent as we’ve been all season. Horley put up a dogged defence but we kept up a high press and good tempo and it was no surprise to go in five-up at half time. We ran out of steam towards the end, but by then it was a rout.
The forwards and midfield were always interested. Greg Galstaun, Dave Pinder and Chris Ralphs each picked up a jug-avoiding brace, with an additional goal from Matt Sabben-Clare and a basket / snooker / bullseye from master of the surreal Michael Quintana.
Greg landed POM this week, but moment of the game came from hidden-talent gymnast Jon Neal, whose full-speed triple somersault with a twist was about the only thing to bring a cheer from the home crowd all afternoon.
