Girls Under 16s Battle Well

27th February 2020

By Surbiton HC

The Girls Under 16s showed some real character during a busy weekend of fixtures.

It was a tough weekend, with the U16 group having to play two re-scheduled Cup matches and two league matches.

With numbers down due to the half term holiday, some of those available were asked to play two matches.  Everyone involved in the matches on Sunday are commended for their commitment and did very well to pull off three out of four victories.

Special mention must be given to the GU16 Eagles team who played a fantastic game against Richmond Lynxes in the EH Tier 2 Cup. Despite a narrow 2-1 loss, the girls acquitted themselves really well under pressure especially as they only had nine players in the team. Well done girls!

Here is some feedback from the Richmond manager: “Just wanted to say that Surbiton was superb today with two players down and they deserve huge credit for keeping the score so close.”

Well done to all involved.
