BU14 Sharks Earn Epic Draw Against OGs Fire

Boys U14 Sharks 2 – 2 Old Georgians BU14 Fire
Today we had a very strong opposition, Old Georgians. The end score was 2-2 however in the first half we were 2-0 up with some quality build ups delivered by Luke H and Freddie S leading to some well placed goals.
We were absolutely working to our best abilities ending up all over them after about 10 minutes, constantly pressuring them. We had two short corners to defend – we managed to stop them and create a counter attack after. This was the best I’ve seen the whole team play ever!
From the beginning of the second half Old Georgians were pushing forward with a lot of energy. They had many breakaways but thanks to our defending we had the receivers marked up well. Many great saves by Matt S, which were then cleared by the defenders Ray R, Joe R and Toby C and put through. However when we had the ball on the 16 to attack we had very few options with many of our team well marked. This meant that they would trap and be on the attack straight away but we had some players marked, eliminating their options forcing the ball to Matt to save or to the marked players. Although they had a short corner we saved it and then cleanly closed down on them and worked around the back four well.
Overall everyone should feel happy with all their work and effort. A very exciting game. Well done boys!

They all deserve so much credit and I think you can tell from reading the report written by goalkeeper Matt how much it meant to all of them. The boys showed incredible sport and determination!
