Sparticans Finish League Preparations with a Local Derby

Spartans 1 - 0 Old Cranleighans

The Sparticans took to Oaken Lane for a final pre-season local derby v OCs. On such a hot day, playing in the sand seemed so appropriate, and fortunately we have honed our skills on the old SHC beach so took our conditions with the benefit of experience.

The OCs found our match balls not to be of their liking and on the 3rd attempt the game kicked on. Two evenly matched teams fought out a tight game, with just the one Fitchy goal dividing the sides. All of the Sparticans player well, with our colts Tommy, Austin, and Jordan (Spartican of The Day) particularly shining.

Post-match it was all back to Sugden Road for the #watchyour1s festival, where we enjoyed another superb tea and admired our choice of shorts and footwear whilst taking of advantage of some Amstel, poured true to its roots by our continental expert. League starts next week...
