L2 Lead Cut To One Point After Hawks Defeat

Surbiton Ladies' second team saw their lead at the top of the Investec Women's Hockey League Conference West cut to a single point after they lost 3-2 at Oxford Hawks on Saturday.
Oxford University closed the gap with a 2-1 home win over Cheltenham with Oxford Hawks in third place three points behind Surbiton.
Emily Smith put Oxford Hawks ahead in the third minute but Hannah Denison equalised for Surbiton four minutes later.
The teams were still level at half time but Alice Klugman gave Surbiton the lead for the first time in the 46th minute, the first three goals all coming from open play.
Oxford Hawks levelled with fifteen minutes to play, Caro Harris converting a penalty corner and followed up with a winning goal with just four minutes remaining, Samantha Jacobs scoring from open play.
Surbiton play the University of Birmingham on 30 November at 2 pm following the first team's match with Birmingham at noon. Surbiton lost 1-0 in Birmingham in October, Josephine Nash's penalty corner a the end of the first half the deciding goal.
