Cobras Hold Out for Win
By James King
Cobras 2 - 1 Old Kingstonians M3s
In a classic tale of two halves, the Cobra's started their game against Old Kingstonians with purpose. Playing at a high tempo, their combination of youth and experience combined well and for large periods of the first half the opposition were left chasing their "proverbial tails".
Through doing the basics well, the Cobra's were pressing high, controlling the game and dissecting the opposition with ease. This culminated in a number of opportunities two of which were converted - the first by young Ben White and the second by the team's stalwart, Alex McKee - giving the Cobra's a well deserved half time lead.
Perhaps it was the half time team talk, perhaps something in the water bottles but the Cobras second half performance slightly disappointed given the standard achieved in the first 35 minutes. That said, the team fought bravely and despite a late flurry by Old Kingstonians, the Cobra's held on for a solid 2-1 victory.
