SHC Players Set for GB Women's EDP 2023 Involvement

6th February 2023

By Surbiton HC

Congratulations to young Ladies 1s star Martha le Huray, who is named in the GB Women's Elite Development Programme for this year.

The GB EDP programme is designed to help players progress to senior international hockey and a number of current GB internationals and Tokyo Olympians have already stepped up from the EDP squad to the full senior side in recent years.

Fast and skilful attacker Martha is part of the EDP squad for the second year running, continuing her promising development as one of the country's most exciting young talents.

Several Surbiton alumni will also look forward to further EDP involvement in the coming year, with Ella Burnley (University of Exeter / Isca), Maddie Long (University of Nottingham) and Pippi Spawforth (Loughborough University) all selected. Emily Guckian and Tas Cookman are named as squad reserves as they continue their hockey journey while attending university in the USA.

Good luck to the new EDP group, and in particular our young Surbiton stars, in the year ahead as they make the next steps towards senior international hockey.
