Surbiton HC to host EHL Premier Division finals

8th December 2025

By England Hockey

The England Hockey League (EHL) Premier Division Finals will return to Surbiton Hockey Club in May 2026 for what will prove to be an exciting finish to the 25/26 season.

Surbiton Hockey Club have hosted the finals twice in the last five years with sell-out crowds last cheering on matches in the 23/24 season.

This season’s finals weekend is the culmination of the 21 rounds of matches in the Premier Division where sides will compete in the semi-finals and final to be crowned Premier Division Champions with England’s places in the EuroHockey League also on the line.

Surbiton’s clubhouse and grounds have undergone significant upgrades over recent months, with the newly designed and renovated bar, function rooms and outside areas transforming the experience for players, spectators and visitors who step into the Sugden Road club.

Last season, Surbiton were crowned men's Champions after a tight final against Old Georgians while Reading took the women’s title after beating Surbiton 1-0 in what was a thrilling weekend of action in Nottingham.

Surbiton Hockey Club was selected after a robust tender process which assessed meeting the operational event hosting requirement, delivering a great experience for teams, officials and spectators and demonstrating the ability to drive a sell-out crowd.

England Hockey’s Head of Sport, Keith Carder, said: “The EHL Premier Division Finals offers the very best that club hockey has to offer and we’re thrilled to be working in partnership with Surbiton Hockey Club for the 25/26 Finals.

“The club has invested into their infrastructure and their event experience which will lead to a fantastic Finals weekend. We always see close matches at the Finals, and I think we can continue to build on previous success and provide a real showcase for fans of club hockey.”

Surbiton HC Board member Fred Moore says: “We are delighted to be hosting the Finals Weekend once again, and expect the player and spectator experience to go up a level with the upgrades we’ve made to the club over recent months. It’s exciting to bring the best of domestic hockey back to Sugden Road and we look forward to hosting a superb event in collaboration with England Hockey.”
