Loughborough Stars Join Women’s 1s Squad

We are pleased to welcome two further summer signings, with Ellie Mackenzie and Emma Uprichard joining the club from Loughborough University.

Up and coming Scottish star Mackenzie made her full international debut in May 2024 and has already shown her high octane attacking game and eye for goal during the pre-season phase.

Ellie says, “I’m thrilled to be joining Surbiton this year - with their top-class players and coaches I am eager to learn from the best. I can’t wait for the season ahead and to contribute to the club’s continued success.”

Following an outstanding season with Loughborough, Ireland U21 international Uprichard brings game understanding, composure and dynamic ball carries through the midfield.

Emma comments, “It’s an honour to join an outstanding club like Surbiton while working in London on my placement. I hope I can contribute as much as I can learn from the fabulous players and coaching setup.”

Women’s 1s Head Coach Dave Beckett is pleased with the strength Ellie and Emma bring to his side: “We are delighted to welcome Ellie and Emma to the club following outstanding seasons in the Premier Division with Loughborough Students. I’ve been really pleased with how quickly they’ve settled into the group and it was great to have both on the scoresheet in our first pre-season game. I’m looking forward to working with Ellie and Emma to help them continue to develop and reach their goals at international level as well as contributing to our success as a team.”
