Up & Coming GB Talent Stu Rushmere Joins Surbiton

Newly capped England senior player Stuart Rushmere is the latest big name signing to join the SHC Men’s first team for next season.
21 year old Stu made his England debut in February 2022 in a Pro League fixture against Spain having progressed to the senior squad from the GB Elite Development Programme. He joins from Loughborough University and will add strength to a formidable SHC midfield line next season.
Stu comments, “I am really looking forward to being part of Surbiton HC next season. It is a very exciting club with great ambitions for the future. They have a lot of talented players, and I cannot wait to be involved in such an elite environment. I know Surbiton is the right club for my personal development, and I look forward to the challenge of competing in the Premier League and EHL with such a fantastic team.”
M1 coach Mark Pearn is pleased to welcome Stu to the group: “Stu is a natural fit for us as a team, and we are delighted he can see himself at Surbiton and help drive us forward. A versatile and influential presence in midfield, I am not surprised that he already appears so comfortable on the international stage.
