Scotland & GB’s Amy Costello Joins Ladies 1s
By Surbiton HC
Surbiton HC is pleased to welcome GB and Scotland player Amy Costello to the L1 squad for the 2022/23 season.
Amy made her Scottish senior debut back in 2016 while still at school and first represented GB in February 208. She is now approaching 100 combined caps for Scotland and Great Britain. A strong defender who also brings a goal threat at penalty corners, she has proven quality at international level and showed herself to be a positive influence on the team as a travelling reserve for GB Women at Tokyo 2020.
Amy says, “It's a real privilege to join a club with such history, ambition and success. Surbiton HC has one of the best atmospheres and a real family feel about it. I am really looking forward to getting to know the team more and get started after the summer.”
Ladies 1s coach Brett Garrard is pleased to see Amy bringing added strength to the L1s’ backline: “Amy played against us for German side UHC Hamburg in the EHL in October 2021 and I was impressed with her quality and control of the game. I am delighted she will now be a Surbiton player. She has enormous potential and will fit in perfectly with the club and team. I look forward to helping her develop over the coming year.”
From all at Surbiton, welcome Amy! We look forward to seeing you play in Surbiton colours for the first time next season.
