National Finals Beckon for Five Colts Teams

It’s an exciting weekend ahead with five junior teams representing SHC in National Finals on Sunday.
The Boys U14 Seals take on Cambridge City HC at Lee Valley at 12pm. The Seals have had a strong 2021/22 and qualified for the Tier 1 final after a brilliant 7-0 semi final win over Guildford BU14, who have arguably been the Seals’ closest rivals so far this season.
The Girls U14 Ospreys play Bury St Edmunds for the National T2 title at 1.30pm, with the final being played at Cambridge University. It looked like it was all over for the Ospreys when they were 3-0 down at half time in the semi final away at Taunton, but the girls put together an amazing comeback to win 4-3.
The Girls U16 Calypsos also play for T2 honours, taking on Belper at 3.15pm. The girls play their final at Reading HC, where they also played out a nail biting semi final contest, drawing 3-3 in normal time and beating the home side 4-3 on flicks.
The Girls and Boys U18 teams both head to Lee Valley to take on Midlands powerhouses Repton HC for the National Tier 1 titles. A number of players will be taking part in their final competitive game for Surbiton as juniors and will hope to do it in style.
The Girls U18 Jays won their semi final 3-1 against a strong Isca side. Their final takes place at midday. The Boys U18 Vikings put in a big performance to beat Sevenoaks 9-0 to secure their place in the final, which starts at 4pm.
