GB Star & Former Colt Izzy Petter Returns to SHC

19th May 2022

By Surbiton HC

Surbiton HC is delighted to welcome GB and England’s Izzy Petter back to the club for the new season.

Former SHC Colt Izzy first joined Surbiton at the age of 12 and after excelling at Colts level and playing first team hockey as an Under 18, she rejoins the club from Loughborough University. Izzy has had an exciting journey over the last few years, making her senior international debut in May 2019, scoring a crucial goal a few months later as GB qualified for Tokyo 2020 and bringing back a bronze medal from her first Olympic Games last summer.

Izzy says, “I’m super excited to return to SHC after three seasons away. I played indoor with some of the girls in January and loved it so I’m really looking forward to playing alongside some familiar faces next season, and hopefully winning another league title!”

Izzy is one of the most exciting attacking talents in English hockey and coach Brett Garrard is delighted to see her return to Sugden Road: “I always take great pride when young players continue to develop having grown up at SHC and return to us ready to take on the next challenge. I am so pleased to see Izzy returning to the club after her time away at university and an exciting start to her international career with an Olympic medal. She will add great value to the team as we look to take another step forward next season.”

Welcome back, Izzy! We look forward to seeing you back in action for SHC next season.
