There will also be a changing room schedule in place this Saturday.

LAST WEEKEND: It was eerily quiet on Saturday considering it is October. Just two matches and a friendly run around, but still the last match managed to finish 45 minutes late!

MATCH TEAS & SPOOKY SATURDAY: Everyone seemed to enjoy the alternative match teas of an incredibly unhealthy full English breakfast. You will see we’re back to the usual set up this weekend and I’m delighted to see the chefs embracing Halloween by including pumpkin seeds in their pesto. All joking aside it is a great alternative to pine nuts and keeps it safe for those with nut allergies.

For anyone else wishing to get into the spooky spirit on Saturday, there will be bar prizes for effort & execution.

NEW HALF PITCH & ACCESS TO ALL PITCHES: The new half pitch is a great addition and for those teams that use it to warm up prior to their games have really helped keep the match schedule stay on track. Please be aware that whilst the building work is progressing access to Pitch 2 will be via Pitch 3.

QUIZ NIGHT: As a reminder, we will not be running a quiz night in November, but the quiz will return on Friday 2nd December. Rumours are already circulating about some new teams coming along to test their knowledge (will the Ladies 2s be the winners on their first appearance?) so get the date in your diaries and get your teams of up to 6 together for a fun night of quizzing.

NEW REUSABLE CUPS: We are looking forward to the delivery of our new reusable cups. Please note that there will be no more plastic disposables and no glass allowed outside. The price of the cup will be added to your first drink and then yours to keep. Once they are introduced we will forward a graphic so that everyone can share with all opposition, (some visitors are still unaware that we are card only). Communication of these little things are key to a smooth matchday.

FOOTBALL WORLD CUP: The Qatar World Cup starts next month and we are looking to run a sweepstake if there is enough interest. Please send an email to clubhouse@surbitonhc.com if you're keen to get involved.

Cheers,
Ann
