Umpire Development: September 2021 Update
By SHC Umpire Development Team
There are lots of good things going on in ‘umpire world’ at the moment. Our new Umpire Development team bring you more information…
1. PRACTICAL UMPIRING SESSION: FRIDAY 24th SEPTEMBER
Our national league umpire Andy Parker is holding a practical session to complement the online umpiring level one course.
This is aimed at anyone who has done the online course (or is planning to shortly) and anyone umpiring for us who is in need of a refresher.
It is also part of the lead up to assessment of Level One umpires (the club urgently needs more given the new league requirements).
If interested in this course or for anything else relating to umpiring please contact Ian Wyatt (ian42wyatt@gmail.com or 07767218369)
2. ENGLAND HOCKEY UMPIRING COURSE
England Hockey now has an online umpiring course available for anyone interested in becoming a Level 1 umpire. Click here for more details
3. GET INVOLVED IN UMPIRING AT SHC
Umpiring is a great way to give back to the game and your club.
New rules and a growing number of teams this season also mean it's more crucial than ever that we increase our pool of umpires at SHC.
Check out the Umpiring page on the Surbiton HC website to find out more about umpire support and development opportunities to help you gain skills and confidence.
If you are keen to get involved on match day, please contact Ian (as above) or Jess Tallent - we'd love to have you involved in the club's team of umpires!
