Return of Colts Hockey: Update (23rd February)
By Surbiton HC
Following the very welcome news last night about the “Roadmap” out of Covid, we would like to share our plans for Colts hockey over the coming weeks.
We are planning for a full return to hockey on 29th March (providing we get the necessary go ahead from the government) and the provisional plans are outlined below. Full details will be published by the end of the week but we wanted to let everyone know what to expect.
Online Sessions and Hockey HIIT
- Will continue until 28 March 2021
Age Group training / Games / Matches
- 29 March - 14 May 2021
- Sessions will run over the Easter holidays
- We await confirmation from England Hockey and the Home Counties Junior League about the conclusion of the season
- We are setting up a fixture timetable with other local clubs for this period
Extra Age Group sessions
- 29 March - 18 April 2021
- These will run on specific days over the Easter holidays and will include mini tournaments, matches and technical skills sessions, amongst other things.
All the above will be part of our regular offering and are included in your fees.
Easter Hockey Camps
- SHC Camps (year 1 -9): Weekday mornings (9am - 12pm) from 29th March to 15th April
- SHC Masterclasses: various dates
- U14/16 Performance Day Camp - dates TBC
A brighter future seems to be in sight and be assured that the SHC team is planning a fun and exciting conclusion to the 2020/21 season. The silver lining to the past 18 months is that we now have an opportunity to play hockey in warmer weather and throughout the summer ahead. Plans are already afoot to celebrate the future so keep checking your emails, social media and the newsletters.
