Steph Elliott to Join Ladies 1s

4th May 2020

By Surbiton HC

Surbiton HC is delighted to welcome Steph Elliott to the Ladies 1s for the start of the 2020/21 season.

Defensive midfielder Elliott has been one of the IWHL Premier League’s most influential players in recent seasons, leading former club Holcombe to three Playoff Finals and the European Trophy as captain.

Elliott made her international debut in 2013 and went on to make 15 appearances for England and GB. She has also played club and representative hockey in Australia and New Zealand, winning the NZ National League title with North Harbour in 2018.

Elliott commented, “I’m really looking forward to joining Surbiton HC. I’m seeing it as a new start – I’m ready for the challenge and excited to be part of such a successful club. It will be a great feeling to get out onto the pitch again at last and I can’t wait to get started with Surbiton!”

Ladies 1s coach Brett Garrard said, “We’re really pleased that Steph is joining us. She is one of the toughest opponents we have faced in the league and she brings a wealth of experience and leadership skills. She will really add some quality to our team and we look forward to having her as part of the group once we are back on a hockey pitch together.”
