Pre-Season & Play Day for Adult Members

We are excited to be able to share the plans for pre-season activity and SHC Play Day for players in the adult section.

There’s plenty going on – read more details on session formats, days and times below. However please note that in order to participate in any of the club activity below, you must do the following:

1. Self assess for COVID symptoms. If you have any symptoms, please do not attend.
2. Complete the England Hockey Participation Agreement
3. Every time you arrive at SHC you need to scan the QR code at the entrance with your phone and register your attendance. This is for test and trace purposes.
4. We are not permitted to issue training bibs so please ensure you bring a light and a dark shirt with you to every session.

Adult Section Pre-Season Training

Pre-season training for adult players in the Men’s and Ladies sections starts on Tuesday 18th August.

Sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings from 7.30 – 9pm and the bar will be open for drinks. Sessions will be divided into Men’s and Ladies sessions on the day and will consist of fitness and basic skill development to ease people back into hockey.

Saturday Social Sessions

From 4-6pm on Saturday 22nd and 29th August there will be a social ‘turn up and play’ session at the club. Members and prospective members are invited to come down for a knock about and enjoy drinks in the sunshine. Don't forget to bring a dark and light top!

This is a great time to arrange a social get together with your teammates before the season kicks off.

Adult Section: Play Day – Saturday 5^th September

Our annual play day to enable selection and registration for new and existing adult members will take place on Saturday 5th September from 1pm-4pm at Sugden Road.

The bar will be open and there will be food available to purchase on the day.

Please note that Under 16s should not attend as their selection and registration will be administered via the Colts section.

Play Day Schedule:

• 11am – 1pm: L1 fixture
• 1pm: Registration and selection activity starts
• 1.30 – 4pm:  Men’s and Ladies game play on both pitches
• 4pm: M1 fixture
