M1 Visit Beeston On Sunday

27th September 2020

By Colin Pike

Surbiton Men play their first Men's Hockey League Premier Division away game when they take on Beeston at Nottingham Hockey Centre at 2 pm.

The game will be streamed live via Bee TV and can be seen here

Surbiton have won on their last six visits to Beeston with their most recent triumph coming in Beeston's last home game of last season when Surbiton won 7-1, Luke Taylor scoring five goals with Alan Forsyth and David Goodfield also on the scoresheet.

Taylor scored five goals last week as Surbiton began their 2020-21 campaign with an 8-1 home win over Brooklands Manchester University.

Beeston had to settle for a point in a 3-3 draw at Wimbledon in a see-saw game in which Wimbledon took the lead, Beeston led 2-1, Wimbledon led 3-2 and Beeston levelled with just four minutes to play.

Adam Dixon scored Beeston's consolation goal last season and was first on the scoresheet last weekend, Sam Apoola and Chris Proctor their other scorers.

Although Surbiton are currently in a winning run in Nottingham, Beeston's last win in October 2013 saw the end of a run of ten successive wins (8 Premier Division wins and 2 EHL Championship wins) for Beeston.

Elsewhere, Brooklands Manchester University are at home to Wimbledon; the University of Durham make their top flight debut at Old Georgians; Oxted renew old rivalries with Holcombe and the University of Exeter welcome East Grinstead to Devon.
