M1 & L1 Champions, L2 Promoted

28th April 2020

By Surbiton HC

England Hockey have today announced their decisions around the outcome of the National League hockey season for 2019/20.

Having finished top of their respective league tables after completing the regular season fixtures, both our Men's and Ladies 1 have been confirmed as National Premier League champions for the season.

Meanwhile the Ladies 2s have been announced as champions and have secured promotion from the IWHL Conference West in their debut season of National League hockey.

For the M1, this means they have achieved a domestic double following on from their victory at the Copper Box in February and will guarantee them as English club hockey's top seeds for the EHL competition next season.

This is our L1's seventh consecutive national title - an astonishing achievement. They will also represent English clubs as #1 in next year's EHL competition and will be eager to continue to dominate the domestic scene.

Our Ladies 2s were runaway leaders of the IWHL Conference West and managed to confirm their position as table toppers with several games left to play. This recent announcement from England Hockey rewards what has been an outstanding first season at National League level for a young team.

Congratulations to all three squads and coaching teams.
