M1 Aim To Qualify For Super Sixes Finals This Weekend

10th January 2020

By Colin Pike

Surbiton Men travel to Repton School with the intention of finishing in the top four of the Super Sixes Premier Division and qualifying for the finals at the Copper Box on 2 February.

This season's tournament has proved to be very competitive with the top five teams all on nine points having won three and lost one of their first four games and with only four places at stake, one team is going to miss out.

Surbiton beat Hampstead & Westminster 5-4 and Wimbledon 9-3 on Saturday and then beat Reading 4-3 before losing to East Grinstead 7-5.

Holcombe and Sevenoaks lead the way on goal difference and both Kent clubs face Surbiton on Saturday with Sevenoaks getting the second weekend underway at 10.30 am before Holcombe provide the opposition at 3.30 pm.

On Sunday, Surbiton should have an easier day as they are due to play the bottom two clubs.

Surbiton play Canterbury, bottom of the table after losing all four games, at 9 am and then play Bowdon, eighth on goal difference behind seventh placed Reading at 3 pm.

At the halfway point, Surbiton's Alan Forsyth is top scorer with fifteen goals but there has been plenty of support to help Surbiton stake their claim for a finals place.
