Hockey Suspended as England Returns to Lockdown

2nd November 2020

By Sian Craze

As most club members will now be aware, England Hockey has confirmed that the national lockdown announced on Saturday will mean no club or community hockey can take place from Thursday 5th November until after Friday 4th December at the earliest.

The latest government announcement orders all sports facilities to close and club and community hockey is therefore suspended until the game is in a position to resume.

Please click here for the full England Hockey statement.

What does this mean for hockey at Surbiton HC?

Unfortunately the forced closure of the club facilities does mean that all club hockey and social activity will be suspended throughout this lockdown window (starting on Thursday).

Senior teams will be updated through team captains / Chairs of Selection, while Colts / parents can find information about revised training schedules here.

Updates and the latest club news will be published on the club website and social media channels during the lockdown window. Please continue to check back to stay in the loop throughout November.

On behalf of the Board, I wish everyone a safe and healthy lockdown. Please look after each other and we look forward to being able to get back out on a pitch as soon as we are allowed!
