Sirens 1 - 2 Teddington 7s (A)

Gameday: 21st March 2026

By Charlotte Coltman

Episode IV – The Sirens Nearly Strike Back

Location: The Outer Rim (Teddington Away)

The Return of the Nao
The galaxy rejoiced as a familiar hero returned to the Sirens ranks. We’ve missed you, Nao, and having you back in the cockpit made our play feel like a well-oiled machine once again. Your presence was the "maximum boost" the squadron needed to navigate the treacherous Teddington terrain.

The Dark Side of the Whistle
It seems the "Dark Side" had a firm grip on the officiating this week. The referee appeared to be performing a Jedi Mind Trick on themselves, conveniently missing "feet" in the circle and ignoring a Surbiton player being force-pushed to the ground. Despite the lack of cards for the opposition’s aggressive manoeuvres, the Sirens kept a "stiff upper lip" and carried on with the mission.

Teddington had an early goal but we held them to 1-0 at half time.  Then an early strike by Teddington in the second half left us 2-0 down.  But Jedi warriors don’t give up.

The Surge Awakens
The Rebellion’s offence was led by the ever-reliable Surge. After some confident hits up the pitch that would put the flight path of the Millennium Falcon to shame, she delivered a strike with the precision of a Jedi. She took the ball and popped it straight in, leaving the opposition looking as bewildered as a Stormtrooper at a shooting range.

Aaliyah: The Last Jedi (In Goal)
The MVP of the Battle of Teddington was undoubtedly Aaliyah. She was a wall, a lighthouse in a storm, pulling off epic saves that made us think she was using the Force to guide her pads. She came out to take on players with the confidence of Han Solo facing down a Star Destroyer, ensuring our narrow lead remained intact. It was a wizard show that saved so many goals!

Final Thoughts:
A hard-fought battle for the Surbiton squadron against the 4th in the league team. The spirit was high, the saves were legendary, and we held our Jedi heads high.

POM: Aaliyah
