Men's 1s 5 - 1 Holcombe 1s (A)
The Men’s 1s maintained their 100% domestic winning record for 2025/26 with a 5-1 victory over Holcombe in the final Phase 2 game.
The Seals travelled to Holcombe Park for a 6pm pushback on Saturday evening and were two goals up within five minutes, with Jake Payton pouncing on a penalty corner rebound in the third minute and Player-Coach Barry Middleton following up with a field goal shortly afterwards.
Stu Rushmere dispatched a penalty corner in the 20th minute and while Holcombe pulled one back through Matt Ramshaw, Surbiton went into the half time break 3-1 ahead.
Player of the Match Nick Bandurak rifled home at his old stomping ground in the third quarter and Gareth Furlong rocketed a penalty corner flick to the top right corner to complete a strong win in the final minute of the game.
The big games continue to come thick and fast, with a Phase 3 double header next weekend. Following Saturday’s other results across the Top and Lower 6, Surbiton’s opponents are now known: the Seals will have three home games against Cardiff, Holcombe and Hampstead & Westminster on Saturday 18th, Sunday 19th and Saturday 25th April.
Game times will be confirmed imminently, but with Finals Weekend also taking place at Sugden Road on the 2nd and 3rd May, there will be plenty of exciting hockey to watch across the next three weeks!
