Women’s 6s 2 - 6 Ashford (Middx) 1s (H)

First game back and Tish was extra eager, showing up 15 minutes early. Look at her go! Once we all got warmed up we felt we were ready to go. Oh no… Ashford scored twice in about the first six minutes. Silly mistakes from Surby but fear not! We scored two amazing goals soon after. The first one from Ffion’s luscious short and the second one from Iona’s brilliant open play! A few stumbles (causing this to be my third DOD) and shoves later and this brings us up to half time with a score of 2-2!

Many sweets were consumed at half time to give us the energy to go back on. We held our own for the start of the second half with Becky and Zoe making some gorgeous runs and Tarryn and Lila making some shots. Sammy the wall stood strong as per whilst Kirst, Sinead and Sofia followed suit.

Alas, their short corners got the better of us and I think we just lost our heads a little from then on. We continued to try our best and kept up with our energy but it was an unfortunate defeat by the end. Spirits were lifted again by the lovely match teas however I think Becky felt more defeated when Sinead said they weren’t friends… here’s to next week!
