Women's 4s 1 - 4 Old Cranleighans 1s (H)

Gameday: 15th November 2025

By Charlotte Stacey

The 4s arrived on a very grey afternoon at Surbiton for what promised to be a tough game against OCs who had been relegated last season and were sitting one place below fourth placed Surbiton going into the game.

Stacey earned herself the DOD title early in the day as she was late, again… but not her fault this time, because the bus driver had an unexpected toilet break halfway to the club.

Emily and Herbie delivered a great team talk and having had some ups and downs over the last few weeks the 4s were ready for a win.

The game began with both teams starting at a high intensity. The 4s immediately put pressure onto OCs with forwards Tegan, Swindell and Chandler setting the press and making some great leads.

However, OCs were quick on the break, catching the 4s off guard with some sharp counter-attacks that sliced through the midfield. Their pace down the wings caused problems, and despite solid defence they managed to send three goals past Surbiton in the first half.

After half time the 4s regrouped and as the second half began Surbiton had renewed focus with Freya and Evie making some great runs through towards the D along with Herbie who created great opportunities through the midfield with skills that left defenders scattered left, right and centre as always.

Charlotte made a goal line save and some great tackles whilst Eve worked tirelessly in goal with a string of impressive saves but OCs kept the pressure up, launching long balls and quick switches that stretched the 4s across the pitch.

The third short corner of the game saw Tegan perfectly place a deflection past the OC defence in what was a goal scoring masterclass, offering a brief moment of hope and earning her the well deserved POM title.

Unfortunately despite some great attacks we weren't able to convert again and OCs managed to slip another goal through, bringing the score to 4-1.

Despite a disappointing end result OCs played a great game with some amazing attacks. There was lots to learn and after two losses the 4s are ready for a win next week against London Academicals.

POM - Tegan for a great goal
