First game back, the season’s begun,
We met a sharp team, oh boy could they run.
Our legs found rhythm, our sticks found speed,
We matched their passes, and kept pushing indeed.

We blocked the ball (sometimes by chance),
A few of us mastered the goalie dance.
Their keeper was fierce, a wall in the net,
Our near goal moments, not in there yet!

We laughed, we sweated, we found our groove,
First match jitters? We made them move.
No win today, but spirits are high,
Next week, we’ll score and on we'll fly.
