Women’s 4s 1 - 3 Hampstead and Westminster 4s (H)

Gameday: 30th November 2024

By Neve Hutchinson

Playing at Surbiton we were faced with tough opposition but our team stayed determined throughout the game and the score doesn’t always reflect the quality of the game. We are all hoping next week we will continue our determination and this time get the result we deserve!

Starting the first half we had composure in midfield and defence, making great transfers and passes to the forwards who had many great shots on goal! Lisa’s silky skills helped us get round the opponents but they were persistent! Our defence were making amazing transfers and tackles - but we were 3-0 down at the end of the first half.

Emily pulled the team back together with her great team talk helping us to refocus. We started the second half with a different mindset and during the second half we conceded no goals! Jen, Lisa and Tegan had great shots on goal as the forwards! Tegan scored a sneaky one making the score 3-1, and things began to look brighter. Our midfielders had a great work rate, with Thea and Emily in particular making great leads and connections through from the defence to the main attacking line. Our goalkeeper Ava and Mia, Maddie and Sunny in defence were all the pillars of our team. Amber and Aoife as our halfbacks made amazing passes down the line. They all managed to keep us composed in the second half by making great connections to the midfielders!

While the game could have arguably gone differently, everyone in our team was determined and worked very hard - eager to win and that I believe reflects our performance more than the score!

POM - Lisa, so so hardworking with her great skills!

DOD - Neve: me for having attitude towards umpire… sorry :)
