Women’s 2s 1 - 3 Slough 1s (A)
By Shakila Keable
In the first quarter we started off well
Slough were aggressive and continue to yell
We had a few chances, none gave us the lead
Composure was crucial so we could succeed
Quarter time whistle, no goals were scored yet
A few words from Will, a positive mindset
Early on in the quarter we took the lead
To win the league a draw is all that we need
Imo’s fast hands and speed were of merit
She scored a great goal and for that she gets credit
Some great passes from Pip and drives down the line
Gave us some chances so that we could shine
At the end of the quarter Slough levelled the score
This match every season is always a war
From the first whistle Surbi fought hard
Lilie went five but still got a card
The third quarter started and Slough pulled ahead
The score now 2-1 some of us feeling dread
A few decisions against us angered us all
And we struggled to keep hold of the ball
A few minutes later they made it 3-1
The score not ideal and the tension not fun
We won many corners but none went straight in
We continued to fight as we wanted the win
The fourth quarter arrived, we gave it our best
A match against Slough is always a test
Freya continued to make some strong tackles
As well as open up many good channels
We didn’t get the point that we desire
A draw or a win is what we require
On our home pitch against Harleston next week
The dogs will get the result that we seek
