Sloths 3 - 5 British Army O35s (A)

12 players and three supporters headed to Kings International College to take on the army. As savage as this sounds, it was a very enjoyable game, with great banter and laughs all round. We held our own and played some lovely hockey. And even kept up with the super fit army team.
A massive thank you to Laura who stepped up and umpired while our appointed umpire was stuck in traffic. Not all heroes wear capes.
As always I have no idea on what happened and in what order. The Army scored five goals - one assisted by me, one by Charlotte and one by Sunny #WeWantToPlayInThePlate.
Ruthie scored our first goal, an amazing deflection on a bouncing cross from Jo. I scored two others. ‘Herbie not Herbie’ was class in the mid as always with her trickery turning them inside out and earning her POM. Other nominations were Charlotte, Sunny, Jo, Sinead and Ruth - six nominations says it all.
DOD went to me. A bit mean I feel! The pitch was possibly icy and there were defo banana peels all over the D. A comedy banana skin fall. Other names mentioned Herbie the Grass, Sunny for passing to their CF, Charlotte and Sinead for not waiting for the umpire switch.
