The first game back after a Christmas of excess has been a reality check for many a Master over the years. However, the Jokers’ trip to league leaders Old Georgians proved that Surbiton had only the stomach to dominate.
With the back four utterly imperious, a silky-steely midfield showed snarl and skill at just the right times, feeding an incisive forward line. Goals from James Burns and James Lloyd (2) sealed a thoroughly deserved 3-0 victory.
Man of the Match: Martin Dye - so busy, OGs wondered if he had cloned himself. The umpire had to give him a green card to clear up the confusion.
